Who said fundraising cannot be fun and innovative?  That’s the challenge set by The Abbey with their 1913 fundraising campaign launched this month.   Join the scheme, collect your £10 and see how you can at least double your money.  The challenge has been set for the community and local businesses – if you are not able to join in, just make sure you support all the fundraising activities from car washing, to picture quizzes of Tewkesbury and many more! Ring The Abbey for more details on 850959 or email Philippa Shaw on operations@theabbeyorg.uk

The Happy Accidents will be appearing at The Gupshill Manor on Fri 9/10/09 at 8 pm in aid of the appeal. Tickets cost just £5 and are available from The Abbey Office or directly from Jon Benns at The Music Trade shop, Church Street.

Northway Youth Project

We have received an urgent plea from Elaine MacTiernan who is attempting to raise funds to provide facilities for the younger generation in Northway, Tewkesbury.

She is involved in two projects - firstly to provide a mutli use games area and secondly the refurbishment of the Alex Cunningham Building. Elaine has identified funding from the Gloucestershire Community Cashback fund and has been awarded two bids on the website which is open to members of the public to vote for their favourite project.  Votes can be cast until 11 September and she is urging local people to support one of the projects by voting on line at www.cashback.cjsonline.gov.uk/cc.asp?area=13&mode=vote. Just select the project you wish to support by scrolling down  and clicking on it, then click on “have your say" button to confirm your choice.  The Chamber wish Elaine every success.
