When VAT was temporarily reduced to 15%, the Chancellor added 2% duty to fuel to offset the reduction in tax collected from motorists.  Now that VAT has been increased to 17.5% again this hidden tax has not been removed - hence recent rises in your fuel costs.  Sign the petition at the link below to have this stealth tax removed!

Tewkesbury Business Groups Come together

Last Tuesday the J9 Business Group representing the interests of businesses based on the Business Parks off the M5 held a very successful business luncheon at Launchpad in Tewkesbury.  It brought over 100 business owners together from several local business groups including the Tewkesbury branch of the FSB, Tewkesbury Chamber of Commerce, Parklife , Winchcombe Business Forum and Bishops Cleeve Chamber.

The 2009 Tewkesbury Business Awards have now been announced and an Awards Evening organised by David Smith, Retail Support Manager at Tewkesbury Park Hotel was enjoyed by over 100 local retailers in February.

Chamber Quiz raises money for Charity

The Chamber's Charity Quiz held last Tuesday at The Hop Pole was a great success raising a total of £273 for two local charities.  A very big thank you to all those who took part and supported the event, and also to Chamber member, Wendy Spence for being such a fantatic "Quiz Master" (much better than Ann Robinson!)

A cheque for £136.50 was presented to  Wendy Spence for Sue Ryder (Leckhampton) and a second cheque for the same amount to Nicki Philipston-Stow of The Ora  More...

Cycle path to be glow worm friendly

Lighting on a new cycle path in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire will automatically switch off at 11pm so as not to disturb the resident glow worms.
